Staff Training, CPD and INSET
We offer training sessions on issues around race, masculinity, popular culture, and education to schools and organisations looking to challenge and rethink their approaches for their students and clients.
All engagements start with an insights meeting with Jeffrey, so that he can understand your school’s or organisation’s context, needs and requirements. This ensures all training and talks are tailored to your needs.
“We were all blown away. Jeffrey was so engaging and had clearly researched our school well. I have had purely positive feedback from the staff.”
— AK, Deputy Head Teacher
An introduction to racism:
Exploring race, identity and discrimination In education
Many schools focus on race and racism from a US context. This session equips teachers to understand more about the history of racism in the UK and the consequences it continues to reap for our children today.
1.5 hours
Decolonising the Curriculum:
How and why we need to tackle colonial ideology in the curriculum
What does it really mean to decolonise the curriculum? And where do we even start undertaking this process? Here we take a deep look at the colonial ideals underpinning the modern curriculum, asking questions of how we can tackle deep seated ideology and the implications for teachers and modern schools.
1.5 hours
Understanding Ideology in the Curriculum:
Exploring the design principles that underpin the curriculum
What needs to be flexible? What needs to be fixed? And the role of core values in curriculum design. This session looks at how a curriculum sits in conversation with wider social contexts, in tension with or adapting to societal values.
1.5 hours
We can provide individual talks on the above topics or other themes to meet your requirements, or a series of talks over a period of time.
Having worked with schools for over two years, it's our experience that schools benefit from a series of three sessions (as outlined above) leading on from each other to take you through a process to decolonise the curriculum. This allows for greater insight and the ability to start making practical steps with tangible outcomes.

What People Are Saying
"If you need an inspirational role model to deliver keynotes bespoke to your students and staff around topics and areas of high stakes interest then look no further. Jeffrey is outstanding at working with you to create sessions that activate the mind, generate discussion, bring you to the edge of your seat and remove you from sitting on any aspect of any fence! In education today we constantly look to people to give us perspective, challenge our opinions and leave us vulnerable when questioning our ethics and place in society. Without question Jeffrey was fantastic in engaging a whole variety of young people and an entire staff body in all of the above and more.”
